I had never heard of Ray LaMontagne before Amazon's recommendation engine pointed out to me that people frequently bought Martin Sexton's "Solo" along with "Gossip in the Grain." I'm a huge fan of Martin Sexton since about a year ago, and looking for more amazing folk/rock music to experience.

His voice is edgy and rough and soft and velvet and thorny..
I listen to this CD over and over and over and it truly is great each and every time.

Gossip in the Grain is a great CD.The music is both relaxing and energizing.La Montagne's voice is one of kind.His lyrics are smart, witty, sad, sharp, lyrical, and pertinent.Everyone I've played the CD for has really enjoyed it even though none of them had ever heard of La Montagne before.
