Amazon.com Review: If you don't know the difference between a lob wedge and a lemonwedge, check out Golf for Dummies, by CBS commentator GaryMcCord, one of the game's most colorful--andknowledgeable--characters. It's a wonderful, often hilarious, neverboring introduction to the game. McCord'spotato-chip drill--yes, potato-chip drill--will revolutionize yourswing, and your thinking, with overtones that could spill directlyinto off-the-course existence, as well.
Customer Reviews Average Rating: Rating: - Golf for Gary McCord and his Editors
"Golf for Dummies" 3rd Edition is a weak attempt by a Professional (Gary McCord) to help beginners find their way around playing golf. For the most part, I found this book traveling the ranges of advanced play to intermediate play, to history of golf, to various professional courses and to techniques in how Gary made it into professional golf world. That seems good for those who do not want to play golf. Rating: - Worth it Read this book in conjunction with the golf book for dummies on etiquette. Both worth the read, though you cannot learn to play golf with either book.It will however, get you into the culture, become aware of how to approach the game and avoid many pitfalls.
