I have had this microwave for a little over 2 years now and I'm so impressed with it.It cooks everything evenly, it's easy to clean, and at my house it doubles as a bread box.It's such a great microwave that I'm trying to talk a friend into buying it for her new house.I'm sad to see that people have seemed to have issues with it, but I haven't had one problem with it since I took it out of the box.It's one of the better birthday presents I've received!!
Rating:  - Don't buy
This microwave should come with hearing protection, and it gets louder as it gets older. The fixed time for defrosting requires constant monitoring otherwise it cooks the food. This is a boat anchor.
Rating:  - Good Looking, but way too loud!
I bought this GE because the salesman said they are a good brand.The microwave looks good, but it is way too loud!There is vibration and you practically have to yell when you are in the kitchen and it is on!I had an older model Sharp and it is much quieter than this one, although there are problems with the clock on it.I will be returning the GE and probably get another Sharp or something else!

We've returned two defective GE microwave ovens model JES1142 in the past month. Both had bad motors driving the turntable, so that with food or without, the turntable would start and stop, making grinding noises. We thought the first was just a one-time problem so exchanged it for another of the same model, and it had the same problem.If I could give the GE no stars I would but apparently I must give it at least one.
