The Western Digital 320GB external Passport drive is exactly as advertised.The drive installed easily, quickly and has operated flawlessly since.

The Passport Essential worked great once I figured out how to use it on my mac.It wasn't plug and go, as advertised, with my mac.I had to format it first to the mac which may not be much of a issue if you know how to do this but for me it was a little time consuming trying to figure it all out.But I eventually got it working and it works great.I've even dropped it a couple of times but it didn't seem to effect it working.
Rating: - A huge about of data storage in a small box
This hard drive is a good choice for you if need loads of portable storage space and perfect for putting it in a backpack for travel. It comes preloaded with WDSync/Encryption tools that you don't have to install to use the drive. Works well as a backup repository for your CD/DVD and Acronis partition .iso images. The access times are acceptable for a USB device, and I would definitely buy this product again.

It would be nice if this little drive had an IEEE 1394 Firewire port as well, but it works great.Fairly fast and does not get hot even after hours of operation.Extremely quiet.
The supplied USB cable is a little short but that is easy enough to remedy.
It only has one tasteful USB activity light near the cable plug so it doesn't blind you ever time you plug it in and access data.
