This book was written in the late 1980's, but it could have been wriiten yesterday and you couldn't tell the difference. Everything he discusses is still very relevant, perhaps even more so now. His book "Revolution: A Manifesto" was an easy read, a begginers introduction to liberty, if you will. "Freedom Under Seige" has a lot more substance. I just finished this one today after reading 'The Revolution: A Manifesto' This was just as good. Written over 20 years ago it gives an excellent example of just how completely consistent Ron Paul is.
If this book had been read by the masses in 1988, many of the problems we face today could have been at the least minimized or quite possibly even fixed by now.
It reads well and is hard to put down until you get to the chapter on economics.

My favorite RP book to date, this 1987 essay defines Individual Rights (life, liberty and property), how the Constitution was designed to protect them, and how our corrupted government is taking them away. How? By taxation, inflation, land confiscation, by generally exceeding its enumerated powers and (in the past) military conscription.
