After the one review confirming this unit works with Dish DVRs I bought one to use with my VIP 622. The is the maximum size that will currently work with the Dish DVRs. I plugged it in, went to the DVR Media Menu and formatted the drive. Then I moved about 50 GB of movies and shows to the HD which I was surprised to find would take 3 hours but it did it with no problems and the VIP622 allowed viewing of TV while the transfer took place.
