Rating: - Too bulky
On the plus side the price is right, and it does a good job protecting you from burns, but good luck picking up anything with this beast. I'm a man with medium-large hands and it's very difficult to grab pot handles or anything with confidence wearing these. My wife hates them. I recommend looking elsewhere.
Rating: - Insultated but really nonfunctional
Ordered a pair of these mitts to help out with outdoor charcoal grill. They do keep your hands insulated from the heat but the thumb on the same plane makes them almost unusable for basic functions besides picking plates up. I have recently purchased glove style and wouldn't want it any other way. If you feel like you will be doing a lot of outdoor cooking then consider the little increase in price for the glove style.

For the price, this mitt is well worth it. I like the way it covers your forearms. Many times I have burned them when placing a roasting rack or skewer apparatus on a large platter to bring inside, and they slid just enough to touch my forearm. It does smart.
