Rating:  - great slow cooker
This is a great slow cooker.I love the fact that it is programmable, and especially the fact that it has a probe for cooking meat.
I have used this to cook a whole chicken and a pork roast with the probe.
Wonderfully moist meat. Of course, it won't brown the chicken, but since I take the skin off anyway, it does not matter.I have also cooked swiss steak. Yum.
Again, 5 stars.
Rating: - Handy for the family
After using a traditional slow cooker for 15 years, it would only cook on high.So we decided to purchase a programmable slow cooker.We have been very pleased with this model so far.We have programmed it for cooking beans, stew, chicken, and vegetables.The programing gives the flexibility and versatility we were looking for in a modestly priced unit.

We had an old Rival crock pot from the 80s that worked great, you could put a frozen roast in it on low in the morning, go to work, and come home to perfectly cooked roast after work.It finally gave up and died... so we went on a quest for a new one.

The first time I used the crockpot it died within 5 minutes. I returned the item and purchased a different crockpot. I would not recommend this product!
Rating: - Great for transporting food
I bought this slow cooker because I was sick of having liquid spill out as I transported food to the office.It works great!The rubber gasket around the lid seals everything in and the clamps on either side of the lid keep it sealed down tight.Slow cooker functions are pretty much the same on all models but the way this lid seals sets this cooker apart.Good thinking by Hamilton Beach!
