Product Description: This stunning Moroccan Tagine is designed with a shallow enameled dish and conical lid which is ideal for the long, slow simmering of rich, flavorful recipes. The eye-catching, tight-fitting lid forms an excellent seal to keep moisture and heat inside. The conical shape also helps moisture circulate throughout the piece so there's no need to open, stir or turn the tagine, making for easy preparation.About Le Creuset... Since 1925, artisans have been crafting Le Creuset cookware in the French village of Fresnoy Le Grand. Each piece of Le Creuset cast iron cookware is handcast, polished, double enamel-coated and then fired, resulting in some of the finest quality cookware available. Cast iron is one of the best materials for distributing heat gently and thoroughly and is ideal for induction ranges. The strong enamel coating will not absorb odors or flavors, and is easy to clean. Heavy lids securely seal in moisture and flavor. Le Creuset cookware comes in a variety of sizes, colors and styles to match any kitchen and cooking preference. So lasting, you'll pass it on to the next generation of promising cooks.
Amazon.com Review: You'll fall in love with this tagine as you slow-cook succulent lamb, chicken, fish, or vegetable and couscous dishes typical of Moroccan cuisine. The two-piece tagine consists of a shallow dish on which sits a conical lid that circulates flavorful juices as it vents excess steam. Both are constructed of durable cast iron and coated with hard layers of enamel that resist cracking, chipping, staining, and odor retention. Suitable for use on any type of stovetop burner or in a conventional oven, the cast-iron tagine with its excellent thermal properties is ideal for simmering or baking at low heat.
Made in France, the Moroccan tagine comes in a choice of several bright, modern colors for the lid enamel, while the base enamel is black. The smooth coating means food particles tend not to stick, making cleaning the tagine by hand on in the dishwasher a snap. Enjoy choosing coordinating colors for your Le Creuset baking pans, pie dishes, French ovens, and more, and relax knowing each is covered by a lifetime limited warranty against defects. --Ann Bieri
Customer Reviews Average Rating: Rating: - Messy Big disappointment here. Seems no matter what you cook, it ends up spilling all over the stove.Have tried both adding a little water and none, the same thing happens.Been searching the net and found many comment on the le creuset that this is a design flaw not found in others. As far as taste will have to agree with others, if cooked in a reg le creuset casserole taste the same. Its just a cool looking dish to have in the kitchen.
Rating: - Awesome! I don't have any experience cooking Moroccan cuisine but have been intrigued by the tagine for a while.I eventually broke down and bought one, and couldn't be happier!!!!First try with my new tagine and received many rave reviews from some picky/brutally honest friends/family!
The tagine was very easy to use, and more amazingly it was SO easy to clean after the meal!(I thought with the sticky ingredients, and almost 2 hour cook time that it would be baked on but it seriously ... Read More
Rating: - lecreuset enameled cast-iron as a man that i am i can come home from work late put this on the stove and in two hours i'm eating real tastey food and it makes enough for three or four people.
Rating: - Beautiful cookware I was very happy to discover that not only is this tagine a hardworking, efficient Le Creuset product, but it's also very beautiful. It's heavy, of course, but perfect for the kind of slow cooking necessary in this kind of cuisine. I bought it for a Christmas present and it was difficult to part with it.
Rating: - easily misunderstood I would start by saying that I have never cooked with a traditional tagine. However, I've had some great luck with the Le Creuset tagine. Based on the many reviews I've read here, I feel that an important element is that you reduce watery elements more than you normally would prior to adding the meats or major vegies. For instance, making a Moroccan meatball dish, I cook the onions and tomatoes longer than I might normally before adding the uncooked meatballs and covering the dish. This eliminates ... Read More
