romantic comedies, like Father Goose. He could have had an endless stream of Hollywood's leading ladies co-starring with him. But he didn't want that & he only did one more movie before retiring. He felt his days as a leading man were gone. They weren't really but maybe it was vanity. He didn't want to grow old in front of the camera.
