Rating:  - Great toaster with great looks
What can I say but I love it! The sleek black chrome face does not leave you with a surface that is hard to keep clean. The toast comes out perfect and is easier to get the toast out by raising the lever. I am very pleased with this item so I also brought the electric kettle and the die-cast can opener and could not be happier with this brand.
Rating:  - Not worth it
This toaster looks great! but neither slot will brown both sides of toast.I tried it on both fresh and frozen bread with no luck after numerous attempts.Not worth the $60, so I returned it and pulled my cheap plastic toaster out of the closet and got back to having evenly browned toast!

I too shelled out extra money to get a "quality" toaster and found that no matter what type of bread or setting I use it seems to have only two results: barely warm or burned on one side. Anything higher than 2 seems to burn, so I have to have it on the lowest setting, stand by the toaster and repeatedly toast it, switching the bread around (only the middle sides toast) and monitor carefully so it doesn't burn.Irritating.Wide slots are nice for bagels, but I too found it doesn't take many breads ... Rating: - Small footprint, great toast!
I love the small foot print, finish, and look that make this fit into my kitchen that is a cross between old world and contemporary. I always have even-toasting, have rarely burned anything, and am very happy with this unit.
Note: If the handle/plunger doesn't stay down in the "locked" position, check your circuit breaker or GFI. Unit requires electricity to lock. This may be in the manual, but I ran into it after owning it for 3 years and at first thought the unit was broke.

I read some mixed reviews of the Cuisinart CPT-160 so I had some apprehension about buying it. I'm been quite pleased with it's performance. Mine toasts regular bread well at the 3 setting and does a good job with thicker bagels. The stainless steel look compliments my other kitchen appliances. A good buy.
