Designed to be used with KX-TG5700 series telephone systems, the Panasonic KX-TGA571S digital cordless handset uses 5.8 GHz frequency-hopping spread spectrum technology for added clarity and a stronger connection. Because it uses the 5.8 GHz frequency, the handset operates on a different wavelength with much less traffic than the 2.4 GHz technology. The result is greater security, incredible clarity, and longer range. Have a wireless computer network, or thinking about getting one? The phone system's 5.8 GHz technology will not interfere with wireless networks such as 802.11b or 802.11g WiFi.
Add Images to Your Calls
The cordless handset is designed around a 1.5-inch backlit LCD screen, providing space for images that you can upload to the phone via its USB port. This set includes a single handset, but the system is expandable to a total of eight handsets.

Purchased a base + x2 handset combo originally and added 4 more separate handsets withing 2 months (the sale price of $40 was excellent!) It is a very nice phone system. great phone (though over-priced) like being able to create your own wallpaper And ring-tones (the ring I have is not available through the normal chanels) wife loves the phone (installed picture of our grand-son and that sold the phone+ one of a kind ring-tone)am ordering another one

I've had this phone now for about 18 months. I have two handsets, two chargers, one of which is the base. The phone has never let me down. The batteries are nickel metal hydride so it doesn't matter how pften you charge them for they don;t have a memory like nicads. There's not a better home phone out there. I've installed MP3 music on it for ringers, and pictures as well. When you store a phone n umber in the handset, you can press a button and it sends the new number to the other handset.

I bought the base unit KX-TG5776 about a year ago with some expansion units. I recently moved in to an appartment where I really did not want to run wires to where I wanted phones. So I just bought more of the extension phones. I also have DSL so I a normal phone would not work without having filters on each phone. This way I just have one filter for the base unit.
