If you're like me, having owned many different sets of basic flatware over the years, let me just say: stop buying that other stuff and switch up to this set.
I'd grown tired of pulling forks out of the silverware drawer only to find them as literal "flat"ware--completely flattened out from the children abusing them (e.g. one child drops one on the floor and another child steps on it while walking by).I also didn't like spoons that would bend when I tried to dig into some old fashioned ... Great set for the money (I paid about $43 + $3.99 overnight shipping w/ Amazon Prime)...Heavy in your hand, great balance and excellent quality. A friend of mine has this silverware and I like it so well that I bought my own.There is something about the weight and balance that makes it 'comfortable'.It is sturdy and doesn't bend, even when scooping ice cream.If you are looking for ornate, this isn't the silverware for you but I think it is attractive.It looks better than the picture.
