Customer Reviews Average Rating: Rating: - The album that converted me! I first heard of Apocalyptica from one of my teachers in high school, and was immediately interested. This was the first album I bought on iTunes, and now they are one my favorite bands ever! Here are the highlight songs:
1. Quuatmo- First song I ever listened to by them! Slow and melodic, but slowly picks up and finishes great. 2. Distraction- A faster track that totally screams "creativity" 3. Bittersweet- Another song with guests H.I.M. and The Rasmus singers; the video ... Read More
Rating: - Nothing short of a MASTERPIECE!!! I had no idea who this band was or where they were from until not more that 4 months ago did a friend of mine have one of their songs (Farewell, which happens to be my favorite song on this album) playing on his computer and I was instantly amazed. This band has something that is not heard here in the US which is the unique blend of symphony and rock. The most amazing thing is that, while some of these tracks have lyrics, they are simply not needed because the cellos playing through the guitars and ... Rating: - Apocalyptica: Self Titled is brilliant! The album overall is great, with a theme that carries over into each song that would make them all sound similar if not for the way in which they innovate and dance other melodies around it.
My only complaint is that the last "hidden" track is so far along at the end of the album. Almost 6 minutes in, but it's so worth it to hear the dazzling vocals on this version of Quuatmo.
Rating: - "Farewell", "Ruska", and "Bittersweet" are excellent songs A good number of the songs on this album are a touch "heavy metal" but there are enough songs that I really like to make this a good album. There is a bonus track with Eicca singing in German.I could be wrong, but she doesn't sing in English on this album.Maybe she doesn't feel comfortable singing in the English, but the two gentlemen on the album do a good job on the tracks with lyrics."Farewell" is an emotional piece that I quite enjoyed.
Rating: - Apocalytpica rocks This CD is one of the best from Apocalyptica. Best songs (besides "The Path") on this CD. "Bittersweet" is the best one, it has Ville Valo (HIM, NOT The Rasmus) as vocals, accompanied by Laurie (The Rasmus). YOU NEED TO OWN THIS!
