I love bagels, but am not very good with sharp knives, and every time I had to slice a bagel, my prime concern was not to have an "even" two halves, but to get through the procedure without cutting myself. I bought the Bagel Biter for my company.Management buys donuts, muffins and bagels every Friday.We slice about 4 dozen bagels every week and so far the Bagel Biter is holding up well.
We had purchased bagel cutters of different designs and they all failed within a couple of months.
I would recommend the Larien Bagel Biter to anyone who is looking for a good solid product of exceptional value.

On average we buy a bakers dozen twice a month and use our bagel guillotine to cut all of the bagels at once and then freeze them.The blade is still fine after 3 years, safe for kids to use, easy to wash (one poster claims to put it in the dishwasher but I thought it says not dishwasher safe on the box and I haven't risked it), I hand wash after each use.It would be great if they had a way to catch crumbs, but it already saves so much time and takes a second to wipe up 50 sesame seeds.I love this ...
