The new Actiontec 54 Mbps Wireless DSL Gateway is really many devices rolled into one. It's a full rate ADSL modem that's upgradeable to the new, faster ADSL 2/2+protocol. It's a router, capable of networking up to four computers, via embedded Ethernet ports, with a minimum amount of hassle. And, it's a wireless device, allowing your customer to have the freedom to connect to the Internet without being anchored by cables or cords, surfing at more than 5 times the speed of older devices.

Rating:  - One VPN at a time
This product is a Qwest rental for a small, 5-station office.It works fine for internet access, but it will not allow more than one Cisco VPN client to be active at one time.Since it's necessary for the people in this office to access the company intranet for everything from timesheets to requisitions and forms--it's a real headache.
So far, we've found no solution.Qwest says they don't offer vpn support.Actiontec was no help at all.And I haven't found a similar problem with ... Read More

This has been a reliable product for the past month.I have liberty bell DSl service, and this was the only modem they said they would support, so being a novice to the DSL equipment & service I bought it.I got it at Best Buy for >$100, and had no trouble getting the service once my line was activated.However, I did have trouble getting the wireless work with my Vista Laptop initially.After a short conversation with the Tech Support people, it's been working ever since.I've only had one ... Rating:  - solved internet drop out problem
After a few months of intermitent issues with the internet dropping out though modem - I found out it was due to the power source.I changed outlet and it works fine.Never had any other problems with the unit.

I've gotten two units from Verizon.The first would not get more than 356k download when I was suppose to get 3800k.The second one I got worked for two weeks then went back to the same problem.I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Especially if you have to pay $100 for it.
