Product Description:
Amazon.com Review: While this commercial grade blender might be found in small establishments, such as a gym juice bar or sidewalk espresso cart, it also fits under most kitchen cabinets for home blending of smoothies, soups, milkshakes, and more. With state-of-the-art electronics and a white-on-blue LED panel, the 1500-watt, 3-horsepower blender showcases 30 pre-programmed blend cycles with timed blends and changing blade speeds, everything the home chef or juice bar owner needs.
Designed with sloping sides, the Total Blender base features a front-angled keypad with four numbered buttons that correspond to different blend cycles along with two labeled 'S' for speed and 'P' for pulse. Pressing the 'S' button ramps the motor up; releasing the button sets the desired speed at which the blender will run for 50 seconds. Eighteen of the 30 preprogrammed cycles vary the blade speeds to draw food into the vortex, while twelve remain fixed. A switch on the back turns the blender on and off, while the LED panel on the front indicates which cycle is operating and counts down how many seconds remain (and also warns of overloading).
For measuring on the go, the square, 64-ounce polycarbonate jar has graduated markings for up to five cups on one side and 32 ounces on another. The flexible lid presses in snugly and removes quickly by pulling on any of the four corner tabs; a central plug with a small airhole in the middle can be popped out of the lid to let steam escape when blending hot liquids. Included with the blender are clear instructions for use and a colorful, spiral-bound, 112-page recipe book. The jar, dishwasher-safe only on the top rack, is covered against leakage or breakage for one year. Blendtec covers the motor with a three-year warranty against defects, while the jar blade and the motor base drive socket are covered by a lifetime warranty. --Ann Bieri

When I first learned of powerful blenders such as Vitamix and Blendtec, I wanted the best at a decent price. I had high expectations for this blender however I found it does the same job as my $100 blender. Don't get me wrong, this product is good, but I wanted more. I can't chop veggies without them turning to mush. Making natural nut butters is not as easy as I thought it would be. I should have saved my money and stuck with my other blender because I constantly pull it out to do the job I ... Read More

We bought this item as a way of saving a few dollars over the well established Vita Mix blender, and boy were we sorry, and quickly returned it. After having seen the demo of the Blend Tec we thought that it seemed to be on the same level, but after getting the unit home and trying it on several different concoctions, we found that it truly was unworthy of the money we paid for it, and returned it within about 10 days of it's purchase.
The lid was awkward, difficult to seat in the top. It ... Read More

I bought a Blendtec and used it for about 2 weeks then sent it back. What a disaster! I love making my own nut butters and with the Blendtec it is such a pain. I have also noticed that is is horrible blending frozen fruit and whole fruits. I have a friend that used to own a Jamba Juice and they used to use Blendtec but had so many problems they went strictly with a Vita-Mix. I saw the Vita-Mix demo at a Costco and realized why all the smoothie shops use them. They are so much more durable, versitile, ... Read More

I bought the unit a couple of months ago thinking that I would make smoothies once in a while. I do. I also use it to mill flax, grind pepper, liquify onions and garlic for recipes (my kids hate finding any onion in their food). I even made pate in it. But not only do I use it but the kids use it at least two or three times a day for smoothies or shakes. So far, no complaints and the novelty has NOT worn off. It makes a great iced cappucino too! Make margaritas like the pros!
Its a lot of money, ... Read More

This blender is the worst blender I have ever tried, and I'm stuck with it because the seller doesn't take them back.
I will post videos of the miserable failure of this blender to mix anything but pampered preparations of ingredients, and by pampered I mean cut and manipulated so that this blender will grab them and mix them.
It is just horrible at blending fruits and vegetables, as the blade design leaves things just sitting there. Put an apple in one and just turn it on. It ... Read More
