I am very satisfied with this purchase.Heats up very quickly with a good solid whistle.It's just what I was looking for at a very reasonable price.(Reviews of other teakettles complained the whistle was not loud enough.)I would have given 5 stars except for two minor issues.(1) You need to be careful when pouring since it can splash a bit when pouring.(2) It is somewhat difficult to get all the water out when you're done (which is apparently important to the product's longevity.)You ... I am very happy with this tea kettle.The only thing I could see improved is that the lid is a bit difficult to get off and put on.It fits very tightly (which I realize is good!) and would be difficult for someone with pain in their hands to manage.Works fine for me.

I purchased this at a local store after handling all the others in stock (about a dozen). It was/is in my opinion the best constructed kettle of the selection. After using it now for over a year, I agree with a few reviewers points:
* Whistle is extremely loud and persistent, except when it isn't. For some reason, it occasionally fails to seal properly and thus the steam fails to signal that boiling has been reached. This happens rarely now as I check the cap, but I'm not sure I've found ... Read More
