I've been looking for a watch for a long time so have a bit of an idea of what's out there.Most of the timex watches sold on Amazon sell for a lot less at Target or Walmart. The one shown here is only $24 in these stores and I once I saw it even in a dept. store.After reading the review of the woman who had 3 in a row stop working and could not return them, I would ask you to think just how easy it is to return anything at Walmart or Target if you have one in your area.The other thing is that ... I had this watch for five years before it started to die! I loved it so much that I bought it again. The face is really small. The band is really a dark magenta. It is almost a plum color. I like it but changing the bands is pretty easy as well. Everyone compliments me on this watch!

I've read the reviews. Yes, the band is more red than brown, but it seems like a decent, attractive watch. The first one I purchased wasn't completelycovered with Mother of Pear on the dial, but Amazon made a speedy exchange. The date is a little tricky to set, but I still very much like my watch. (Also,I never have had a problem returning a defective item with Amazon. They are my number one choice!)

mmmmm, things that are brown: trees, dirt, me (=p) but NOT this watch! it clashes with so many things that a brown watch shouldn't! but on to its functionality: it keeps time, nothing new there. the date function took a little tweaking until i finally realized that IT knows am/pm even if I don't! so i had to reset it 12 hours to get the date to change properly. other than the color, which is a little hideous, i like the watch.
