They're great for walking and I love the toe caps. For klutzy people like me, the protection is nice! I read lots of reviews before buying these. My mother has admired my Keen Newports and I decided to get her some for Mother's Day. The leather ones are so hard to find in a color I liked. Things seems to have gone the way of the H2s. I got her the Newport Leather in Rum Raisin/Plum Kitten. I've never seen a plum kitten, but whatever. The shoes are a really nice red-brown color that actually occurs in nature.
