After reading all the good reviews and looking at the picture, I thought this would be a great choice for me.Unfortunately, the block only fit two of my larger knives, leaving 4 big knives without a home.Maybe if there were room for 4 or 5 larger knives I would have made due and gotten rid of a redundant knife or two, but as it was, this block is useless.

This block has enough slots that are large - to hold just about all knives you will need.It has a 3 1/2 inch for a cleaver and a couple of 2 inches for a Santoku and a large chef's knife.It has several 1 1/2 and 1 inch slots.It has a place to store your steel and kitchen shears.It has a fairly small footprint considering it holds 19 knives.It's about 5 inches by 11 1/2 inches.

The knife block arrived on time and is an excellent value for the price. There are slots shaped for just about any knife or implement you might have. Too often knife blocks have only standard slots and I have some decidedly non-standard shaped knives and sharpening tools. This one handles every shape. Another thing I like is that the slots are long and deep enough so that even the longest knife doesn't poke out the bottom and gouge the counter top.
