Beautiful!I bought this press on the basis of all the glowing reviews written here.Well, yes, this is a thing of beauty and a joy forever, no doubt, since it's unlikely to break.No pussy-footing around this baby.Everybody says the coffee is superb, too, but, ahem, it is not to my taste, and that would go for any coffee press, I suppose.This was my first try with one.
So be sure you like French press coffee before investing in this or any other!

I was reluctant at first. I was not happy with the taste of automatic drip coffee. I had purchased a cheep espresso "Pump" machine, no good. And, I could not afford a real espresso machine. Been looking for the perfect cup of morning coffee for some time. Tried drip, percolators, even very expensive super automatic expresso makers. French press is the best and the Frieling does great coffee, cleans easily, and looks great on the counter. Also for us klutzes out there, it can't break no matter how often you drop it.Be sure to get a good conical burr grinder to get a uniform coarse grind or else you are not getting the best from the press. I love, love, LOVE this french press. It makes wonderful coffee and keeps it hot for *hours*, PLUS it is virtually break-proof. I have literally dropped it straight onto the floor multiple times and it doesn't even have a dent. A scratch from me accidentally brushing it with a stainless steel scrubber in the sink yes, but a dent no. And after a year, it still has a nice luster/sheen to it. What a winner.

I've tried a half dozen coffee presses and this one is tied with the Bodum insulated all glass press for flavor and economy of grounds but without the egg shell like fragility.This press just makes a great cup of coffee. I cannot recommend this enough. It's also super easy to clean.
