Her story is wrapped up within one of the most incredible marvels in all world history: how the Christian church survived under repressive atheistic communism in China. But it did more than survive. It thrived and multiplied. We can better understand these heroic Chinese Christians through Nora’s story.Adopted by a prominent family in Shanghai in 1941, little Sung Neng Yee (Nora Lam) is treated like a princess. . . until the bombs drop, and the Japanese seize her house. After the defeat of the Japanese, she joins the Communists, believing they are the liberators of China. All goes well until she falls in love with Iam Cheng Shen from Hong Kong.Communist officials decide to break her of any bourgeois tendencies.During the next few years, in which she marries and has three children, she is subjected to excruciating persecution. She calls out to God for salvation.Miracles follow. She bargains for her husband and daughter’s release to Hong Kong and is sent to hard!labor, where she starts agitating for her own release. An intimate love story, sage of courage, and acclaimed inspirational gem.
Customer Reviews Average Rating: Rating: - A good movie This was a good movie, inspiring and a good example of someone who didn't recant, who didn't give up and who fought the whole way.

Rating: - An important story brought to film This story can teach us a lot about the situation in communist China. It's not against China, but against the evils of communism. In fact, she simply describes her experience and others can easily feel the evil. They didn't need to alter it to preach against it. After having read the book, which the movie follows very closely, I can say that nothing was exaggerated in the behavior of the communists toward Nora.
The movie does cut off almost half of the book, so if it piqued your interest, ... Read More
Rating: - An Inspiring Saga This movie is an incredible story of faith in the midst of persecution.I think it is a "must-see" for Christians in America, because we can too easily take our religious freedom for granted.I highly recommend this movie!
Rating: - China Cry After reading the book, the movie was a disappointment because they focused on such a short period of her life.It isn't up the standards of The Hiding Place even though it was made by the same producer, but it is worth watching and owning.
