There are lots of fancy cookware materials out there but castiron still trumps them all with its even heating, heat retention,price, and duration. It's these traits that make Lodge cookware favoredby both indoor chefs and campfire cooks alike. The caveat is cast-ironcookware's weight and, at 10 pounds, this griddle will give most chefsa workout. At 9-1/2 by 17-1/2 inches, this griddle is long enough tocover two burners of a stove. The flat side of this reversible griddleis ideal for pancakes, eggs, or grilled sandwiches while the oppositeribbed side works for bacon, chicken, a whole fish, or any foods withfatty drippings. I use this on top of my BBQ grading- AMAZING results. Try it with fish, chicken, beef, seals in the flavor and juices-I love it.

Super unit.Pre-seasoned and works right out of the box.It is not flimsy like some that I have returned.Both sides work as they are advertised to work.
The only negative for me is that I would like to have about 1 1/2 inches more width.
