Editorial Review:
Product Description: Top-notch components yield a stunningly accurate bookshelf-size speaker! Custom designed 3/4' tweeter delivers crystal-clean undistorted upper mid and high frequencies. The 6' poly/graphite woofer is light yet rigid for tight, accurate extended bass. Rear-enclosure patented 'Venturi' vent further extends deep low frequency performance. It is ideal for use with all surround and music formats.
Amazon.com Product Description: Attention, all bass lovers needing small speakers: this stately pair of Venturi DV62si bookshelf speakers from BIC America uses a patented and specially tuned rear-panel Venturi port to extend the its low-frequency response to an impressive 43 Hz, nearly a full octave below the capabilities of most bookshelf speakers--the place where kick drums kick and bass guitars growl their deepest. The 2-way speakers would suitably fill out your home theater with surround sound, enliven your dorm or apartment with music, or provide gentle background ambience in your bedroom or business.
Use one pair for stereo or surround applications or pick up 2 pairs (4 speakers) for use as the front and surround elements in a multichannel listening system. The speakers are magnetically shielded for distortion-free placement near your television or computer monitor. Video programs sound more lifelike and enveloping with timbrally matched speakers all around, and plenty of newer music formats--from the DTS surround CD to DVD-Audio and SACD--offer music from your favorite artists mixed expressly for surround-sound listening. (Alternately, you could use these as surround speakers with larger, floorstanding speakers for the front left/right channels.)
Standing just under 15 inches tall, the DV62si speakers each use a custom-designed .75-inch, ferrofluid-cooled dome tweeter for extended high frequencies and a 6-inch poly/graphite-blend woofer is light yet rigid for tight, accurate, and remarkably extended bass.

Customer Reviews Average Rating: Rating: - Great "front" speakers for surround I needed new front speakers for my digital 5.1 surround system. These BIC's fill the bill quite nicely. My system includes a subwoofer, so I'm not missing any bass response. But if you use your stereo only for music, you'll want to consider a good equalizer to enhance bass. These are good speakers for a smallish family room, a bedroom, or dorm room. I can also recommend the BIC America DV52CLRB center channel speaker. My 5.1 system's sound improved notably when I changed to the 3 BIC America speakers ... Read More
Rating: - Good value The Bic DC62si speakers represent very good value. They provide lots of volume with adequate clarity, and they sound quite different, depending on what amplifier I have used. Two amplifiers I no longer connect them to are a Harman-Kardon receiver and an AudioSource Amp 300. I now have them connected to a discontinued Carver THX amplifier rated at 180+ watts per channel, with an old but very good Carver preamp. The Carvers are very smooth and eliminate much of the raspiness (i.e., distortion), that I hear ... Read More
Rating: - Old school two channel system with these BICs, terrific sound! The bass is quite robust, while the highs and mids are crisp.Hooked up to an Onkyo 8222 (with 50 watts each channel), these BICs sound terrific, whether you're listening to rock, instrumentals, or NPR.The speaker build is solid as well, durable enough to survive a cross-country move this past summer. Also of note, when purchased a couple years ago, the price was about one hundred bucks for a pair, which remains unchanged today.A superb buy overall.
Rating: - top shelf sound at a discount price Have owned these for a little over a year, sound as good as speakers for 6X the price.I compaired these with many speakers in a simular price range locally and these came in 2nd place. The Insignia NS-B2111 from Best Buy was my favorite overall but unfortunatly they were not magnetically shielded.Pass on the x-over mode hype, after a short break-in period they sound great.Very highly recommended.
Rating: - Big sound, tiny box We needed a small set of speakers for our 10 x 10 exercise room but didn't want to spend a lot of money or give up sound quality. These marvelous little speakers fit the bill on both counts.
