Plantronics .Audio PC Headset Speaker Switch - I've got a great set of speakers for my computer. When I play games or watch DVDs, I crank those bad boys to 10! However once the wife goes to sleep, I've got to mess around behind the computer and plug the headset in. This nightly chore is extremely annoying - but not anymore! Plantronics has come to save the day with this handy little device. You just plug it into your soundcard and then plug your speakers & headset into it. Now with the click of the button you can switch between the two! How cool is that!?

Rating:  - Simple gadget that works as described
There's nothing complicated about this. I use Skype and also listen to streaming FM. Before I had to go to pause the music, then plug in the headphone before answering the call. By then, the call went into voice mail. I still have to pause the music, but then just hit the button to switch to the headphone/microphone. When you get it, it seems a little pricy but it solved my problem, and I'm happy.

Well, I just bought this and really like it already. Switching between headset and speakers is so easy now. Only problem I have is that the microphone is disabled when activating the speaker, but I can live with that :)
Rating: - Broke down after a month
EDIT:
After the first day, I had a problem with switching from speakers to headset. When I switched, my headset would only work with the right headset. I had to tap the switcher a bit before both sides would work. This gradually got worse everyday.
Then, after a month, the mic port did not work at all. I cannot return it now because I thought it would work perfectly and i didn't expect to return 17$, so I threw away it's original packaging.

The switches are very good 4 stars...But it seems that Amazon are messing customers about these days...so for Amazon 1/2 a star...it seems to me clearly working on past reputation earned, they are now gambling messing customers about and damaging their customer trust and Amazon's integrity.Within about a 24 hour period 10/21/08 to 10/22/08 I have seen this item change price and seller six (6)times.This isn't me accidently hitting different sellers, I bookmarked the page and even linked from my ... This switch works exactly as advertised.If you're looking for HiFi sounds, you probably shouldn't be adding any extra devices in your cable path.The sound DOES come through in stereo.
