Celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse kicks it up another notch with this stainless-steel cookware collection, following the success of his nonstick collection. Bam! This 10-piece set is a lustrous example of the stainless-steel collection, which is made by renowned cookware manufacturer All-Clad. Pots and pans are heavy-gauge, 18/10 stainless steel polished to a mirror finish outside and blessed with a satin finish inside to conceal utensil marks. To distribute heat uniformly and maintain it, there are thick aluminum disks on the bottoms covered in stainless steel so the cookware works on any stovetop, including induction. For elegance, the disks' edges are clad in copper.
The set consists of a 2-quart saucepan with lid; a deep, 3-quart casserole pan with lid; a 6-quart stockpot with lid; and a 10-inch fry pan. The pot and pans display Emeril's signature on their cast-stainless-steel handles, which are riveted for strength, have thumb rests, stay cool on the stovetop, and won't be harmed by an oven's highest heat. The pot and pans' lips flare to facilitate dripless pouring. Made of tempered glass, lids allow cooking to be monitored without releasing heat. Stainless-steel bands around their edges prevent chipping and ensure a tight fit. Although Emerilware Stainless cookware is dishwasher-safe, hand washing is recommended. I'm very pleased with this purchase. I owned several All-Clad cookware pieces.This is my first Emeril set and I found they handled just the same as All-Clad. I only wished they come in a little lighter weigh.

I purchased this set over a year ago and have used it heavily ever since.I switched from a non-stick set, since all the warnings about teflon, etc.I have no problem keeping them clean - I have used bar keepers friend, but prefer "Kleen King - stainless steel and copper cleaner" that my uncle sends me from California.My mother used that cleaner for her revere copper bottom pans for over 30 years and they still look fabulous!Anyway, the pans are great - I don't care if they are "professional" ... They're a great value for the money. The major difference with this line and the All-Clad brand, is that All-Clad is made in America, and Emerilware is made in China... All-Clad owns it, it's just a much less expensive brand. If I had the money, I would buy All-Clad, but that's not really an option. This set is the best value I could find, and my Wife is extremely satisfied. We did have one issue with the 3-quart casserole pan. One handle had a slight drip at the rivet point. I have the new 10 piece set - everything is the same except there are more pieces. Every piece was made to perfection. I have never used stainless for cooking before, so I read the comments of others and followed three simple instructions: 1)keep the heat down; 2)simmer water to clean and 3)use bar keeper's friend to restore shine. Following these simple instructions, I have to say cooking in these pans is a delight!
