Product Description: Coffee is the stimulant (and opiate) for the masses. Tea on the other hand is for the discriminating individual whose tastes are distinguished from the norms of society. Whether medicinal infusions to aromatic delights brewing tea requires the right temperature timing and balance
Amazon.com Review: For tea, instant coffee, soup, oatmeal, or hot chocolate, thiscordless electric kettle brings 7 cups of water to the boil in minutes.Shaped like an upside-down acorn, the kettle is a real beauty. Thesilver, enamel-like exterior glitters and resists scratching, and thestainless-steel top and spout are polished to a mirror finish. Thematte-finish handle with a shiny inset and a ball-shaped, matte-finishknob atop the lid, as well as the power base are all black plastic tocomplete the updated-retro look. To provide 360-degree access, thekettle fits onto the power base in any position. With indicator lightson both sides, it suits left-handers and right-handers equally well. For safety, the handle stays cool and the kettle shuts offautomatically when water boils or the kettle runs dry. A removable, washable filter captures loose pieces of scale. Made in Italy, thekettle stands 10-1/2 inches high on the power base, which has acord-wrap underneath, and carries a one-year warranty against defects.--Fred Brack
Customer Reviews Average Rating: Rating: - already submitted one 5-star rave review ... ... but here's something else great we think we may have forgotten to mention about this DeLonghi DK100 retro kettle ::: the handy feature which allows the user to wrap any unneeded cord length *underneath and inside the base*.
Not usually oughta-be-a-law types here, but we honestly think there OUGHTA be a law mandating this feature for all countertop electrical appliances. It's neither a complex nor a super-expensive idea, and on every other appliance we have we can see it COULD have ... Read More

Rating: - Short life Having bought and used this product in the UK at the cost of 50 pounds I have been disappointed. The element has blown after only 20 months of use. I live in a very soft water area so not one bit of scale was in the kettle and it has never been boiled empty. There has been no misuse. Although the kettle looks good on the kitchen surface it's not much use now!! I have had better longevity from far cheaper plastic kettles and will not be buying any more DeLonghi products as a result
Rating: - Design & Functionality This kettle incorporates exactly what I wanted: something that is attractive enough to leave on the counter & energy efficient at the same time. It is a rapid-boil kettle, I put it to the test boiling the same amount of water in the microwave as in the kettle and the DeLonghi won the contest. It is very easy to use, has an auto-off switch, so no more guessing as to when the water really boils or not. Very sleek looking machine with good, comfortable handle. I'd buy it again!
