One of three Global whetstones of different grit ratings, thiswhite one is Grit 120 for honing damaged knife edges before they'rehoned on a medium-grit whetstone and then finished on a fine-gritwhetstone. It's made of hardened ceramic powder for quick, easy workand can be used immediately after wetting—-there's no need for alengthy submersion in water. Attached to the whetstone is a porcelainslab for rigidity. The whetstone rests in a removable, rubber-likeplastic base to prevent slippage while it's being used.
