Product Description:
With the Oregon Scientific BAR338PA ExactSet Projection Alarm Clock you can keep your pretty little head on the pillow in the morning. Just tap the snooze button & the clock will momentarily project the time on the wall or ceiling in soft red light. You can even rotate the projector forward 90 degrees if needed. And being an ExactSet clock, it automatically sets it's own time, day, & date via the US Atomic Clock in Boulder, Colorado. It automatically connects to the Atomic Clock 6 times a day via it's built-in radio receiver. It even adjusts for Daylight Savings Time & Leap Year.Day-of-week in one of 3 languages -English, French, Spanish Alarm -Crescendo Battery Type -2 AAA

Amazon.com Review:
This versatile system forecasts local weather; automatically sets andupdates the time, day, and date; keeps track of the indoor temperature; andemploys a remote, wireless sensor to record the outdoor temperature up to 100feet away. For forecasting weather within 12 to 24 hours, the6-1/4-by-4-1/4-inch monitor employs a built-in electronic barometric-pressuresensor and then displays the upcoming weather with an icon (sunny, partly sunny, cloudy, rain/snow) on its backlit LCD screen. For keeping track of time, themonitor is equipped with a radio receiver tuned to the U.S. atomic clock; thisenables the monitor to maintain split-second accuracy by automaticallyadjusting, if necessary, to the atomic clock's signals six times every 24 hours. From those signals, the monitor also displays the date, the day, and the timezone for which the user has set the clock. Also, the clock automatically adjustsfor daylight saving time and for leap year. The monitor beams the time and theoutdoor temperature onto a wall or ceiling in large, red numerals for easyreadability. If the monitor is in battery-mode (four AA batteries included),pressing the clock's snooze bar will beam the data for five seconds. If themonitor is plugged into a wall socket with an AC adapter (included), theprojection will be available either for five seconds with the snooze bar orcontinuously if a continuous-beam control is set. The projection beam comes froma device mounted next to the clock. The device pivots so the beam can beprojected onto any surface, and a dial focuses the beam for clarity. You canalso choose to have the temperature displayed in either Celsius or Fahrenheit.--Fred Brack

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Nice TOY if you have a REAL alarm clock!
This clock is fun to watch during the night to display the time and outside temperature on the ceiling, but forget about it if you have to rely on it to wake you up. I set the alarm three weeks ago and it has yet to wake me, and it goes off every morning. I heard it once as I walked by it. I read previous reviews and knew what to expect, so it did not disappoint me. I bought it for the display and atomic clock features only.
As usual ordering and shipping from AMAZON.COM was great!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The best projection alarm clock I have found!
This is my second projection alarm clock, replacing a less expensive model that suddenly stopped projecting and transmitting the outside temperature. My parents had purchased our first clock, and they are already on their second, and the consensus among us is that they are a great idea, but prone to being complex to use/set up, and prone to failures. While I haven't owned this model long enough to know how it will hold up- I can tell you that it is much better made than any other I have seen.... Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent preformance, right out of the box.
Because of a bad past experience, I've been suspicious of "cable-free weather forcasters" that required a battery powered unit placed outside. The month of December 2008 has had temperatures as cold as -10 degrees Farenheit, in Minneapolis, and this Oregon Scientific unit has been working flawlessly and accurately since I installed it the first of this month. I don't know how long the batteries in the outside unit are supposed to last, but so far, so good!

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - doesn't work, no customer service
I got one of these for Christmas last year. It worked for about a week and then lost the ability to communicate with the temperature sensing remote. Tried everything in the manual and web site to get it going again, have emailed customer service a half dozen times with no response at all. It was great while it lasted, but the complete absence of customer support scores a big fat zero in my book.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Just Okay
I had an Oregon Scientific clock for 10 years so when it needed replacing, I ordered another one that was similar but it was supposed to be a better model. The temperature on the sending unit is 6-8 degrees off all the time. The company has been great about support, but we couldn't get it working properly. They are taking it back and sending a new one (the manufacturer, not the seller. I never contacted the seller)I'm hoping when the new one arrives, it will be accurate. If so, I will rewrite ... Read More
