The wonderful thing about this egg slicer (besides its hefty weight and superb quality) is that it can slice eggs into ovals or rounds, depending on which way you place the egg. Great for slicing mushrooms too!

Rating:  - Hefty little cutter
Well made and shaped to easily slice an egg in both directions, this
cutter has a lot more heft than most which took me a bit of getting used to.
I had a little trouble maneuvering it mostly during clean-up, but the weight is an advantage in its slicing ability and it did clean up easily.

This is an excellent egg slicer. I previously had several cheap plastic slicers, and the cutting wires would always break. After the last one broke, I decided to pay more and get a quality slicer. It is heavy duty, and has never failed me yet. I have had mine for about a year now.

What else can I say?It's a high quality egg slicer.It can slice my eggs either direction, which is a must for me, and I can slice many olives at once when I need sliced olives.Haven't tried anything else yet, but I have faith that it will give me lots of great use for many years.Well worth the extra money.

The slicer I expected, was German made Leifheit. This is a heavy, castedmetal,coated by thin layer o stainless steel coating( may peel in time).Wire cutting the egg, must be cleaned very carefully, may snap. I wish Amazon would stateMade in China.

Eggs can be turned either way.It slices perfectly.The body is made in such a way as to prevent the sections from slipping.It is sturdy and dishwasher safe.I gave my mother one for Mother's Day too.Having recently gone through several slicers that were a waste of her money, she loves this one.
