I am a Windows XP turned Mac OS X user interested in trying Linux sometime soon and was pleased to discover SimCity 3000 Unlimited available for Linux. I wonder what distribution of Linux is this available for specifically? Also where can I find SimCity 4 for the Linux platform? I am moving away from Windows and don't want to get to attached to the Mac for gaming -- still want to use my PC for gaming once in a while but don't want to get too dependent on the monopolistic software giant in Redmond. ... This game was a real surprise to me...NOT.This game really stunk in my point of view.The graphics are blocky, and tornados rip through almost eery 2.5 seconds.Think about it this way, you build a magnificent, huge, great, titanic, supreme metropolis, only to have 6600 natural disasters to rip through in a week leaving your town in shambles.This game is a real disgrace to the PC.The modes are similar to each other so that, you can say the whole game copied itself 10 times over!the only interesting ... i am very happy to have gotten a good game for linux. it runs well. i had one small problem, but once i ran the update patch everything was smooth sailing. i play it quite a bit. like i said, GREAT GAME!

Ive always loved The Original Simcity,and Simcity 2000. Simcity 3000Unlimited is based on Simcity 2000's concept but with new (better looking)buildings,a few new disasters,and some new layers of simluationsuch asgarbage,city trade,petitioners, and all that stuff. Great game thou!
