Serve the Sunday dinner roast or the holiday turkey and then carve with finesse using this traditional carving set from Henckels, makers of fine knives since 1731. This set includes a carving knife with an 8-inch high-carbon, stainless-steel blade. The two-piece hardwood handle is bonded to the full tang (the metal extension of the knife blade into the handle) with three stainless rivets and no-seam construction to guard against food penetration. Full-tang construction gives you a better-balanced, stronger knife that is also less tiring to the hand. The double-tined fork has 7-inch stainless-steel tines with similar riveted construction on the hardwood handle. This set should be hand washed with mild detergent to protect the wood handles. --Marcie Bovetz

I have a couple of good knives from other manufacturers, but this Henckels carving knife is easily the best.Incredibly hard steel, cuts like a dream, and has held its edge a long time so far.It's a big knife and a little intimidating for small jobs, but indispensible for the big jobs where you need a long blade.I grew two vines of spaghetti squash this summer and must have cut at least ten of them with this knife.None of my other knives are up to a whole hard-rind squash!Also great for ...
