Like others, I taped the miniseries CHIEFS when first broadcast and have enjoyed watching it ever since;in fact, last year I burned a copy of my worn old VHS tape into disc since it appears it won't be released anytime soon in region 1.I would suspect there is a contractual reason [perhaps Heston himself? I understand he always thought he gave one of his best performances in the flm...] it has not yet been released.

I don't know who owns the rights to this riveting and well-acted
miniseries that aired back in summer 1983 on CBS, but they are crazy
for not releasing it to DVD here in the U.S.!!--A stellar cast,
a well-told story, just classic television!!
It has recently been released in the UK and Germany, but not here!
