My district has used a reading and writing workshop approach for at least ten years. This book has truly helped me to step back and take the time needed at the beginning of the year to establish strong routines. This book is a great way to introduce literacy activities to a class.It helps the teacher and students become comfortable with reading and writing.It also helps the students work independently without teacher support.I highly recommend this book to all elementary school teachers.
