Product Description: In this rich, vibrant tale, Diana Gabaldon continues the story of Claire Randall and Jamie Fraser that began with the now-classic novel Outlander and continued in Dragonfly in Amber. Sweeping us from the battlefields of eighteenth-century Scotland to the exotic West Indies, Diana Gabaldon weaves magic once again in an exhilarating and utterly unforgettable novel....
Their love affair happened long ago by whatever measurement Claire Randall took. Two decades before, she had traveled back in time and into the arms of a gallant eighteenth-century Scot named Jamie Fraser. Then she returned to her own century to bear his child, believing him dead in the tragic battle of Culloden. Yet his memory has never lessened its hold on her ... and her body still cries out for him in her dreams.
When she discovers that Jamie may have survived, Claire must choose her destiny. And as time and space come full circle, she must find the courage to face what awaits her ... the deadly intrigues raging in a divided Scotland ... and the daring voyage into the dark unknown that lies beyond the standing stones.
Customer Reviews Average Rating: Rating: - What a Ride! So much has already been said about this series of books, but I can't help it, I have to add my two cents just in case there are still people out there who have put off reading this series because of the time-travel aspect, (which is why I didn't read them for so long as a big fan of historical fiction). Stop resisting, start at the beginning, go out and pick up a copy of Outlander and I promise you will not stop until you have read all of the books in the series!

Rating: - Wonderful! I can never get enough of these characters and their lives. Ms. Gabaldon has an exciting creative mind!
Rating: - As good as the first in the series, better than the second book. Escapism, adventure, easy reading, and spicy - good for a long trip or snippet reading when you can steal time. Recommended for adult women with a healthy sense of imagination. The romantic aspect appealed to me less than the adventure and historical aspects. Not particularly well written or profound, rather for busy women who like to read to escape -this is a great series. The first book was best, the second slightly feeble, but this, the third, picks up steam and the content is varied and captivating. ... Written by a very talented Scottsdale, AZ author, Diana Gabaldon; this series of books is for anyone who wants to find a captivating read. The plot starts with a post World War II nurse who is visiting Scotland with her husband and accidentally steps through some stones back in time a few hundred years and how she has to adapt quickly to her surroundings in order to survive. She meets up with a band of Scottish ... Read More
Rating: - Customer Service How about a little bubble wrap? I recently ordered several paperback books from Amazon and they were placed in one box without any paper or bubble wrap. As a result, two of the covers were bent. I paid for new books but a poor packing job made them look like used copies.
