The Master Puppeteer is a great choice to use in an upper elementary or middle school classroom.Katherine Paterson does a great job of describing the inner workings of a traditional Japanese puppet theatre, while at the same time weaving a "Robin Hood" type story in that is sure to keep the students interested, as well as attempting to solve the mystery of just who our "Robin Hood" or in this case Saburo.In my own classroom I use it to first explore elements of culture, and secondly to introduce ...
