| | | DVD National Treasure /National Treasure 2 - Book of Secrets [Blu-ray] (Amazon.com Exclusive) | | | | | | | | | | | Rating: - As good as the first, with it's own twists The long and the short of it are: I expected an attempt at recreating the sense of adventure and Patriotism of the first film. What I got was a film that is excellent on it's own merits, with the same wonderful core group of actors. Bravo!! I live in the armpit of America, euphamistically called the "Heartland". So, I have to wait for everything to come out on video.I'm NOT paying the Satellite people over $5 to see something I can buy.Although I usually rent them from Netflix first, because I NEVER buy sight unseen. I was happily pleased with the film, and that technology allows that a DVD may be watched 100 times without degrading the quality and forcing us to buy a replacement DVD.The Disney Pukes are/have figured a way to make our DVDs degrade with time. They will burn in Hell for that.
Rating: - National Treasure Blu Ray review. Being blu-ray the quality is very good.I always found the first National Treasure fun to watch and got a few laughs in.As for the second one, I could hardly sit through the thing. It was like watching a really bad version of the first one.It stinks and I don't like it!
Rating: - Sequel? not so great Should of rented this DVD instead of buying it first. Not as great as the 1st movie.
Rating: - Customer Service The movie is what it is.If you liked the 1st National Treasure, you will like this one.I am kind of a Nicholas Cage fan since Raising AZ. Amazon continues to deliver good value and service.Kills me to walk thru Fry's Electronics and/or Best buy and see what others are paying for the same movies.A LOT MORE.The free shipping on orders > $25 is worth waiting for but most times the stuff arrives sooner than advertised.I am also a big Amazon fan.
Rating: - Great in the beginning but loses it near the end If one can associate an actor to a particular genre of movies, it would be Nicholas Cage to family-friendly action - adventure movies. But sequels has been something he has smartly stayed away from, until now. With this 2nd installment of Disney's National Treasure franchise, Mr. Cage looks like he has sold himself out.The Book of Secrets starts out good but steadily becomes less believable and less original as it progresses. For example, the scene inside the mountain where he and his fellow explorers are perched atop a tilting rock platform seems to be a knockoff from the one of the final scenes from the first National Treasure movie. Also, his entry into the Oval Office seems quite lucky.Still, it is an interesting movie and worth two hours of your time.
