| | | Kitchen & Housewares Jack LaLanne Health Master 100 Blender | | | | | | | | | | | Rating: - Buyer Run Like Hell! At first, the Healthmaster performed beautifully, although I noticed the power cord was as flimsy as a common household extension cord. After a few months of use, the bearing on the blending jar failed. Metal fragments and rust powder covered the rubber shroud. The drive shaft now is also shaky.. and in a short time will fail also. Keep in mind, that the warranty is 60 days only. It also states that it does "NOT cover normal wear and tear." Sure the motor is warrantied for life. But if the bearings fail, and you cannot repair or return your Healthmaster blender, without spending a lot of money, what good is smilin' Jack and his wife's lifetime motor warranty promise? The Jack LaLanne Healthmaster is made in China...and the warranty is clearly deceptive. Jack LaLanne and his wife's reputation are in the mud in my opinion.
Rating: - Extremely Happy I just love this blender. Now, I've never had a VitaMix or Blendtec so I can't really compare. I'm sure those are better. But for what I use this blender for, it has done a perfect job so far.It blends ice and frozen fruit for smoothies like it is nothing. It is also very easy to clean. (Just put in soapy water, blend for a few seconds, and rinse in the sink.)I've only had the blender for about a month, and it has held up fine with every day use.If I do have a problem as time progresses I will be sure to update my review. All in all, this blender seems like a sure bet to me!
Rating: - Great product that doesn't last long. Works great for about 4 months, but then started leaking brown grease and oil out of the engine base.I wish they lasted.
Rating: - Example of one faulty piece ruining an entire machine When I first got this blender, I thought it was amazing. It's capacity is huge.I could blend a full pitcher and I would have enough smoothie to get me through the day.It is enormously powerful.I'm convinced I could probably blend a sinder block into baby powder if I wanted.
HOWEVER, the bearings at the bottom of the blender are completely inadequate. It never got wet from below.I was always careful about that.It still didn't take long for the bearings to become shot.Liquid started to leak through and it rusted out.Now the whole thing is entirely useless. It lasted all of about 2 months for a total of probably 40 uses. That is totally unacceptable. The bearings just can't keep up with the 150 HP electric engine.
If I could buy the pitcher alone, it might just be worth it to buy a new pitcher every few months. That's not an option though.Stay away from this machine until they address the problem with the bearing.Search the internet. You'll find this is a very common problem with it.
Now after having the taste of the good life, I'll never be able to go back to a run-of-the-muck standard blender. It looks like I'll have to break the bank and grab a VitaMix or something similar.I can't help but think that this junk product has probably helped to improve the sales of high end blenders.
Rating: - Healthmaster Rocks! I just got this 2 weeks ago. I am a very happy camper. It makes my green smoothies in seconds. I don't have to chop up any fruit unless I want to. I am getting more healthy day by day. This thing is so easy to clean. I'm so glad I have it! Next, I will get a book that expands on raw food recipes.
