Low rating because of poor documentation and incompatibility issues. First, I tried desperately to get this device to work with two Western Digital (WD) hard drives, to no avail. I later found out (NOT on the Sabrent website, NOT in the product instructions, but in a customer review online), that for WD drives, you need to set the jumper to CS (cable select). It worked great once I figured this out. Secondly, I tried unsuccessfully to get it just to connect to two different DVD drives(a Samsung and a Lite-On). The bottom line is there is a design flaw: If you connect the power supply you cannot connect the IDE connector, and vice-versa. You cannot connect both at the same time because one is in the way of the other, making this useless for these DVD drives that I have. There may be DVD drives out there that are designed differently, with more space between the power and IDE connections, I don't know. However I have found other USB to IDE cables out there which are designed differently and so do not have this problem.

This has been one of the most helpful Hard Drive tools I have used in a long time set up is easy and use is wonderful. Hard to format drives running scans from ur own system it has a lot of uses.

This thing's not as pretty as an enclosure but it is very versatile and works exactly as advertised with WinXP Pro and 3.5"/2.5" EIDE HDs.Have not tried it with a SATA drive.

I bought this product after reviewing it on Amazon. I had high expectations from the customer reviews. It worked properly when I had tested it, however it stopped working the next day I was really ready to use it, it had stopped working. I definitely don't recommend this product, try another product. This product is cheap and will eventually spoil!
