Unless the CD's you store have CD text you must make a list to keep track of what is loaded in this machine. It is also a pain to program. Between the two I would opt for the Sony CD Disc Changer. I am not impressed with the Pioneer.
Rating: - 5 disc changer to HUNDREDS WOW! I love it I am in the process of putting my CD's in categories first. Copying favorites onto my IPod and next organizing intoalphabetical order with in the categories. Making it easier to find what you want. You can play in any order, repeat if you want and shuffle any or all for variety. No need for storage cabinets they are all in the changer. It is great! Rating: - pioneer CD player Convenient, simple to understand and use . So far dependable. A great way to store and have ready to play all of my CD'S. An improvement would be if while playing one could remove and clean or add a CD. The unit stops playing when you try.
Rating: - Simple and Easy This is exactly what I wanted. It was simple and easy to set up. The sound is great and the speed is good for the volume of CD's stored. Very quiet also. Good LCD display on unit - I can read it from the couch. The remote is very basic but works - no LCD. So far I love it. I'm starting to listen to music I've had stacked in a closet for five years.
Rating: - Worth the money and a good answer to CD storage. With a library of over 400 CD's and my 5 disc Yamaha acting squirrelly, I felt the time had come to solve both problems.Since I had good experience with the Pioneer DV-F727 300+1 DVD player, the equivalent CD magazine player seemed a good bet and,so far, this has been the case.Although I'm still not quite finished loading it, the controls readily allow one to access the last empty slot and, if you should want to remove a disc to play in an auto or other player, it is easy to retrieve/play/return it. One caveat is Pioneer's recommendation that, if the device mustbe moved, it should be unloaded/reloaded rather than be transported full.I suspect that stuffing bubble wrap on top of the internal carousal full of discs and then handling it gently would obviate the need to remove the discs and carry them separately with the problem of providing physical protection for them. A second unit can be combined to provide a total storage of 600+2--which implies I could increase my library by another 200 discs.I haven't gathered up the nerve to broach such an idea to my wife.
